Feature · Voice Assistant

Your shop, at the sound of your voice

A microphone button now lives in the Zapeera workspace. Tap it and speak — sell items, check stock, add a product, or hear today's sales read back to you. In English, Urdu, or the Roman Urdu you actually type in.

Rolling out now — available in the web workspace in Chrome and Edge.

Speak the work, skip the clicking

The counter is a hands-busy place. The voice assistant turns the common jobs into sentences: "Sell two Panadol", "Paracetamol ka stock kitna hai?", "Aaj ki report batao". Zapeera understands the command, does the lookup against your live data, and answers on screen — and out loud, if you want it to.

Commands work in English, in Urdu script, and in Roman Urdu phrases like stock batao or sale karo — because that's how people here actually talk to their phones. Where a microphone isn't available, the same commands can be typed into the panel.

Voice meets the POS

What you can say

  • Sell — "Sell 2 paracetamol" (FEFO batch picked for you)
  • Check stock — "Paracetamol stock kitna hai?"
  • Low stock & expiring — "Low stock batao", "Expiring soon"
  • Add product — "Add product Panadol Extra, price 45"
  • Add category — "Add category Antibiotics"
  • Reports — "Today's sales report", "Aaj ki report"
  • Navigate — "Open POS", "Products kholo"

Nothing happens without your yes

Voice is fast, so the safety rule is strict: anything that changes data waits for your confirmation. A sale, a new product, a new category — the assistant first shows a card with exactly what it understood, and only runs it when you tap Confirm or say yes. Read-only questions — stock, reports, navigation — answer instantly.

The assistant also lives inside your permissions. It uses the same account, role and module access as everything else in Zapeera: if a cashier's role can't open reports by hand, it can't open them by voice either. Final totals on a sale always come from the server, never from what was heard.

The roles the assistant obeys

Good to know

  • Works in Chrome and Edge (browser speech recognition)
  • English / اردو toggle, plus Roman Urdu phrases understood
  • Spoken readback of results, with a mute option
  • Typed commands work everywhere the panel opens
  • Rolling out now — more commands (purchases, customers, expenses) follow
